Gutermann is a large world-wide supplier of sewing and embroidery threads. They supply most of the well known garment brands including most of the designer names in fashion and sportswear. The Gutermann design and marketing team are in constant touch with these key buyers and trend setters to plan future new products and adjustments to current ranges.
Traditionally most embroidery thread suppliers have offered a range of Rayon and Polyester embroidery threads. The polyesters have tended to be Trilobal strong thread with a glossy sheen. The Rayon has been a soft natural sheen thread.
With the current world economic situation, many customers have requested a single thread that will encompass both of these characteristics and be lower in price.
Gutermann have now developed the Mara Micro Core Technology ® range of embroidery sewing threads. The advantages of this thread are;

• Drastic reduction of dust deposits on machine components.

• Use needle size 65 for fine detail embroidery.
This thread is available in over 800 colours in cops or cones. We recommend that for general embroidery the customer use ticket 120 with a choice of needles ranging NM 70-80 (10-12). For fine detail or lettering you can use ticket 150 threads with a choice of needles ranging NM 65-70 (9-10).
This thread is very different in texture and appearance. So it will not be a case of just replacing the current thread colours for the new thread. We would advice our customers to show this new thread to the end user and inform them of the benefits going forward.
